Delta Cargo's Live Animal Program (AVI) is designed to address the special needs and care of all animals traveling as cargo. Recognized by pet owners and commercial shippers for our industry-leading level of service, our Live Animal program provides safe transport of unaccompanied pets and other live animals throughout the world.

Our live animal shipments enjoy priority boarding to minimize your animal's exposure to outside temperatures.
In order to allow sufficient time to complete all inspections and acceptance procedures, live animals shipped as AVI or DSH must be accepted within 1-4 hours of scheduled flight departure, depending on destination. We suggest you arrive early to allow sufficient time to complete all inspections and acceptance procedures, live animals shipped as cargo must have finished the acceptance process and be entered into the Delta booking system by the time limits shown below:

Delta Cargo offers a specialized kenneling service to provide your animal with individual feeding and exercise needs.
Animals shipped as DASH will be available for pick-up at your local DASH® Office or the Baggage Service Office within 1 hour of actual flight arrival. AVI shipments will be available for pick-up within 2- 4 hours of actual flight arrival. Recovery time does not include time required for Customs clearance.
Air travel can be stressful. To create a comfortable traveling experience for your animal, Delta Cargo utilizes temperature controlled vans and holding areas which prevent your animal from being exposed to outdoor temperatures during transport and storage.
Delta Cargo embargoes all American, English, and French bulldogs. Kennel must meet USDA and lATA regulations. Animals must travel with health certificate issued by veterinarian within 10 days prior to travel.
To reduce travel and connection times for domestic shipments, your animal can be shipped through our DASH® Express Service, while still receiving the elite care and attention for which Delta Cargo is known.
Our Live Animal program is offered domestically and internationally to accommodate the needs of your animal. All Delta Cargo stations are certified members of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and abide by their policies to ensure the safety and care for your animal.
